2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees Announced

Today the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced the nominees for the Class of 2012. “The 2012 Nominees embody the broad scope of what ‘rock and roll’ means,” said Joel Peresman, President and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “From vocal groups to hip hop, from singer-songwriters to hard rocking artists, this group represents the spirit of what we celebrate at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.” Some of the new nominees are such great bands and artist such as the disco queen Donna Summer and Los Angeles’s own Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns ‘N Roses and WAR.

In order to be nominated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame the individual or band must have released their first single 25 years prior to the year of the nomination. Ballots are going to be sent out to 500+ members who will vote from the list of nominees below:

The 27th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held in Cleveland, Ohio on April 14, 2012. This will also coincide with the museums new library, exhibits and renovated facility.
