The first weekend of December, I had an opportunity to ventured up north to San Francisco.  That alone is a fun experience but, imagine visiting Skywalker Ranch, LucasFilm, Industrial Light & Magic, and going to the Rogue One Press Conference.  You might think I’m telling you a life-long dream but no, I actually experienced it!
Day One started with a trip to Skywalker Ranch. Â It was a 52 minute drive (along the Golden Gate Bridge might I add) from the hotel. Â Once we got there, we were treated to 28 minutes of footage from Rogue One. Â You might say 28 minutes?!? I definitely loved what I saw and that tease was enough to get me super excited for the film and not to mention, Gareth Edwards (Director) introduced the footage! Â After the footage, there was a gathering (small after-party per-say) where Rogue One themed drinks were served with names such as, Jyn & Juice and Jyn & Mule. There were costumes (that the main characters wore) on display as well. Â We even got to visit the Skywalker Ranch General Store where I spent half my paycheck (well, at least I wanted to!).
Day 2 started with a trip to LucasFilm and Industrial Light & Magic.  There were Nissan Rogues (Rogue One Special Edition models) on display out in the parking lot. The iconic Yoda Fountain was out front. I pointed at it and said “There is is!â€, as if it were the long-lost artifact that I had been searching for my entire life. After admiring the fountain and statue, we all went inside to sit down for the Press Conference.
Andi Gutierrez, from StarWars.com hosted the event and began introducing the first set of guests on stage which included: Kathleen Kennedy (Producer), Gareth Edwards (Director), Diego Luna (Cassian Andor), Alan Tudyk (K-2SO), Donnie Yen (Chirrut Îmwe), and John Knoll (Writer). Then Felicity Jones (Jyn Erso), Mads Mikkelsen (Galen Erso), Riz Ahmed (Bodhi Rook), Ben Mendelsohn (Orson Krennic) followed again by: Gareth Edwards, and Kathleen Kennedy were the next group to be introduced on stage.  The audience had a chance to ask questions.  I unfortunately did not ask a question as I was in awe with the events in front of me. Now looking back, I wish I did!
After the Press Conference, We took a tour of Industrial Light & Magic. That place is/was absolutely amazing. Â They had every movie poster hanging up on the wall that the company was involved with. Â There were props from many films on display. The picture of Vigo the Carpathian from GhostBusters 2, ships from the film, Galaxy Quest, E.T., Star Wars (Of Course), The Holy Grail (Indiana Jones), a few dinosaurs from Jurassic Park, and its robotic skeletons were among things I saw. It was an amazing weekend and I hated to see it end!
