AirPop has announced the creation of the Active+ Smart Mask with Halo sensor which provides wearers a better understanding of their respiratory health. By providing breathing-related and real-time air quality data, the Halo sensor also accurately provides the wearer, when to change the mask’s filter.

“We are incredibly excited to launch the Active+ Smart Mask with Halo sensor. This product embodies the AirPop mission – to help people better understand and take control of their respiratory health through a human-centered approach to design, science and technology,” said Founder of AirPop, Chris Hosmer.

“I was inspired to start AirPop in 2015 because my daughter suffered a series of acute respiratory reactions to noxious air years earlier and the experience of feeling under informed and feeling helpless stayed with me. Since then, we have innovated a full range of adult and kids’ products for both high-performance and day-to-day use alike.”

Included into the Active+ Smart Mask is the Halo sensor which connects to the AirPop app, which provides a summary of the wearer’s breathing behaviors, cycles and if there are pollutants the mask might have blocked, while in use. While the Halo can be used in Active Mode, it also provides information such as breaths per minute, pace and more that is  found under the Activity tab on the app.

Blocking allergens, particulate matter, microbial particles and dust, the app also notifies the user when the snap-in filters need to be replaced on the AirPop. Each AirPop filter comes with a QR code included, that can be scanned on the app.

Connected through Bluetooth, the Halo also connects to an Android or iOS device that also supports data to be shared through Apple HealthKit, showing their breathing data and health data that was previously connected.

The Halo sensor is included with the Active+ Smart Mask, designed for on-the-go protection. The AirPop Active+ Smart Mask is built with a 360 degree sealing, soft medical-grade touch fabric and a comfortable filter core.

The AirPop Halo, with an AirPop Active+ Smart Mask and four filters, will be available in the U.S.A. and Canada from AirPopHealth.com in January 2021, and select national retailers in early 2021, for $149.99.
