The Pasadena Civic Auditorium will once again be front and center as “America’s Got Talent” returns for the third consecutive year to film season 13 auditions, starting March 6, 2018. Guests are welcome to participate in the live audience to watch the country’s most talented performers and hopeful stars, with returning celebrity judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Mel B, Simon Cowell and host, Tyra Banks.
Internationally known for the annual Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl Game, Pasadena has a long history of being one of Hollywood’s prime locations to film award-winning TV shows and movies. “Over the past decade, Pasadena has seen an increase from various industry’s – entertainment, travel, meeting planners, etc. – because of its award-winning arts, restaurants and immersive environment,” said Michael Ross, CEO of the Pasadena Center Operating Company. “Having one of America’s most popular shows return each year to Pasadena shows why it’s an ideal destination to visit.”
Recently, several of the city’s hotels underwent multiple multi-million dollar renovations and expansions, including the groundbreaking of Hyatt Place, an all-new hotel opening later this year. This further adds to Pasadena’s transformation into a year-round destination of choice for travelers on holiday, business and meetings.
Opened in 1932, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium is one of the most revered performance halls in the nation. The Civic has played host to Broadway musicals, world-class ballets, symphony orchestras and celebrity speakers as well as the Emmy Awards, People’s Choice Awards, NAACP Image Awards, “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.” The 2,997 seat Pasadena Civic Auditorium is a part of the Pasadena Civic Center District which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
With the search open to acts of all ages and talents, “America’s Got Talent” is a true celebration of creativity and talent, featuring a colorful array of singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians and ventriloquists, all vying to win America’s hear and the $1 million prize.
