Thanos isn’t the only one collection gems. Come Monday morning, Avengers: Infinity War is set to surpass, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in opening weekend box office numbers. Force Awakens, grossed a total of $248 million opening weekend; with as Sunday afternoon, Infinity War has grossed a total of $250 million, according to Variety.
Avengers: Infinity War, rounds out the top six of the lates films to reach record breaking box office numbers; Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Jurassic World, Avengers, and the latest in the Marvel installment Black Panther.
Infinity War, is Marvels biggest production yet; given that this is the acumination of 10 years worth of Marvel superhero stories. Throughout every film, there has been the underlying story of Thanos. An intergalactic space villain who has been looking to gather all six infinity stones, for the sole purpose of ultimate power and intergalactic dominance. Directed by the Russo brothers; “Infinity War,” which picks up two years after the events of “Captain America: Civil War” and sees the Avengers teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to stop the evil Thanos.
