BECKY G LENDS HER VOICE TO ‘SPIRIT UNTAMED’

Latin singer Becky G is joining the next chapter of DreamWorks Animation’s beloved story of Spirit, Spirit Untamed. An epic adventure about a headstrong girl longing for a place to belong.

Eiza González, Isabela Merced, Julianne Moore, Jake Gyllenhaal, Mckenna Grace and Marsai Martin, all star in the sequel to the 2002 Oscar-nominated animated film. In Spirit Untamed Lucky (Isabela Merced), a fearless and headstrong girl, who is unimpressed with the sleepy little town she lives in. Befriends two local horseback riders and lists their help in rescuing a wild mustang, whom she has come to love, from a heartless horse wrangler.

Latin pop singer and actress Becky G, sings an original song, “You Belong,” from the film’s soundtrack. In an exclusive interview for the film, she tells how her manager asked if she would be interested in doing an original song for Spirit Untamed, to which she said yes, given how much of a fan she was of the previous film.

“When I found out that Lucky was a young girl searching for her purpose in the world and discovering more about herself. That in general is something that everyone can identify with.” she says.

“You Belong” is a song about acceptance and peace. “The lyrics to the song are lyrics that now-in-days, I as a woman, feel very connected with. It’s a song that gives peace in knowing that you will always have a place in this world.” She continues, “Sometimes we may alone or disconnected…but you are always going to find where you belong and I think that’s something beautiful.”

Spirit Untamed is out released next week on June 4th.
