“Blue” is brought to life at Universal Studios

The fan favorite dinasour comes to life as part of the "Raptor Encounter" experience.

Fans of the Jurassic World Franchise can now approach Owen’s favorite dinosaur “Blue” in real life. Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort will include Blue in their “Raptor Encounter” experience, where guests are invited to brave the predators face-to-face.

The Velociraptor made famous in Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom comes to life with the help of a computer-generated model. The model duplicates Blue’s on screen image making for a fully immersive experience.

The raptors in the attraction feature ear-piercing screeches mimicking those heard in the movies. Towering over at 12 feet in height guests are advised to approach with caution.

Through the up-close approach guests can expect to see the predator’s intimidating eye contact and razor-sharp teeth. High-skilled handlers will maintain dominance throughout the encounter allowing guests within feet of the carnivore.

News of Blue’s addition comes weeks after the announcement of the new “Countdown to the Extinction of Jurassic Park-The Ride” campaign. The thrilling ride will close on Sept. 3 making way for an all new Jurassic World ride.

The ride is expected to open in 2019. A new-generation will come to the park after 22 years, with immersive and technologically advanced features.

The newest addition to the franchise Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be released on June 22, 2018.
