When Mark Bellas proposed to “Scream Queen” Brooke Lewis, Brooke knew right away that she wanted to have a true “Old Hollywood” wedding. On June 1st, 2019, Brooke and Mark threw the ultimate classic Hollywood wedding at the exclusive Houdini Estate located in the Hollywood Hills. It was the perfect setting for the wedding and a truly enchanting evening at the extravagant estate where Houdini used to practice his underwater escape acts. Harry Houdini’s wife, Bess, once even through a party for 500 magicians at the estate. Culturally Obsessed’s Jennifer Ortega & David Peralta attended the party.
With beautiful flora and hidden garden paths throughout the estate, you felt like you were in a fairytale. The estate was decorated with magical oddities and memorabilia. One path led to a giant oversized chair surrounded by lights, another to a replica of the chains Houdini would use in his escape acts. While the party and dancing were outside, parts of the home were open to guests. In one room pictures and portraits of Houdini draped the walls, while a chef prepared and served mini pancakes to guests. The mood was festive and lively. As an accomplished and much-beloved actress, it was not a surprise to see a multitude of celebrities at the affair. For entertainment, Brooke enlisted friend DJ Jon Gosselin (Jon & Kate Plus 8) to play. Brooke’s wedding cake was even a replica of one of Elizabeth Taylor’s wedding cakes.
Brooke looked beyond stunning in her wedding gown by Inbal Dror and even had a costume change mid-way into the party and appeared in a glamorous Jovani gown. Celebrity caterers, Contemporary Catering, created a menu consisting of delicious dishes all inspired by classic films. And of course to since it was an actual Hollywood soiree, there was a red carpet with photographers capturing the guests’ arrivals. It was sincerely an affair to remember!
