If it wasn’t enough that BTS will be performing on Jimmy Fallon and dance all over Time Square as a part of their “Good Morning America” take over, now the the super seven Korean boy band are set to make history. They have been invited to attend the ’73rd General Assembly of the United Nations.’
According to DongA, BTS is scheduled to perform and give a 3-minute speech in front of Heads of States at the United Nation headquarters in New York City on September 24th. The first lady of South Korea Kim Jong Sook is scheduled to attend as well.
The boys will also be attending an event for UNICEF’s “Generation Unlimited,” which is a new global partnership aimed at teens and young adults from the ages of 10 through 24. This marks the first time a K-Pop group has been invited to the General Assembly of the United Nations. The band has been actively working with UNICEF as ambassadors for their “Love Yourself ” campaign the last 2 years. The campaign has included BTS donating some of their proceeds from their physical album sales of the “Love Yourself” series as well as merchandise.
