BTS’ new album LOVE YOURSELF, ‘Her’was released worldwide simultaneously at 5AM (EST) / 6PM (KST) yesterday, September 18, 2017. Since its release, the album and lead track “DNA” have infiltrated the iTunes charts worldwide making history at #1 in 73 countries.

According to Big Hit Entertainment, LOVE YOURSELF: ‘Her’ reaching #1 in 73 countries is the largest debut number for any South Korean artists. The lead track, “DNA,” also bowed on the iTunes Top Songs Chart in 29 countries, debuting at #4 specifically in the US. In addition, as of 9/18, “DNA,” has entered the Spotify Global Top 50 Playlist.

Past BTS releases infiltrated the Billboard 200 four times ranking at 26, the highest chart number for any K-Pop artist. Now with physical product available for the first time through Amazon, expectations are high for LOVE YOURSELF: ‘Her’ entering the Billboard charts in a new way.

The music video for “DNA” accumulated 20 million views in 20 hours and 48 minutes, making it the fastest K-Pop video to pass this milestone. The video visually represents this lyric: “the two of us are connected fatefully from the beginning, and we’re together from DNA,” that is further represented through the change of scenes and crossover between virtual reality and the universe. “DNA” falls neatly into the genre of EDM-Pop and the song has a unique musical structure using drop parts that are not common to K-Pop tracks.

Yesterday’s release of LOVE YOURSELF: ‘HER’ is also impacting US radio stations which are organically adding the song to their playlists. iHeart’s KJ 102.3 have requested both “DNA” and “Best of Me” for their rotations.

The song “Best Of Me” received early buzz due to the involvement with The Chainsmokers’ Andrew Taggart who co-wrote the track with BTS’ Rap Monster, Suga and J-Hope.

Your EDM wrote: “Both acts are insanely popular in their own right, easily making for one of the biggest collaborations of the year with “Best of Me.”While BTS has built up its following with catchy bilingual lyrics and an already hit-worthy sound, The Chainsmokers have found their own stride with their pop-driven productions and truly complement the group’s style.”

Following the release of LOVE YOURSELF, ‘Her’, BTS will hold a worldwide live broadcast ‘BTS Comeback Show’ with Mnet on September 21 where the audience can watch BTS performing songs from their new album for the first time.
