A galaxy far, far away just got a lot closer as Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman, Bob Chapek, unveiled a detailed model of Star Wars Land that is currently in development at both Disneyland Resort in Anaheim Calif. and Disney Hollywood Studios in Orlando Fla.
“To say we are excited for the Star Wars-themed lands to open in 2019 is an understatement.†Chapek said. “All along, we have said this will be game-changing, and through the model we can begin to see truly epic these immersive new worlds will be,†he continued.
The exhibition, which is sure to stun the crowd, will be on display throughout the entire weekend in the “A Galaxy of Stories†pavilion. Although the model display was only a preview, a more detailed presentation on this new project is set to for Saturday during the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Hall D23. In addition, the pavilion will also have on display: artwork, additional models, and media to provide a first-ever look at some of the locations, starships, creatures, and droids that guests will encounter when they visit the new land.
Two years ago at the D23 Expo, Bob Iger, Walt Disney Company’s CEO, announced the Star Wars project to thousands of excited and anxious fans. He revealed two anchoring attractions that are sure to satisfy the die-hard Jedi lovers. One attraction will give you the chance to pilot the Millennium Falcon on a top-secret mission and the other will put you right in the middle of a battle between the Resistance and First Order. Talk about an epic adventure!
