4-minutes after the goal Chivas was given a shock when Alejandro Moreno collided with Perkins from Portland and had to be carried off the field on a stretcher. He was then cleared and returned to the match to play 55-minutes in the match he was then taken out for Juan Pablo Angel in a substitution.

Later in the second half of the contest the Chivas came close to putting a second point on the board in the 74th minute of the match when Paolo Cardozo was about to take advantage of Perkins coming out of the box to challenge. The ball rolled out to Cardoza but he was unable to find the back of the net.
