What seemed like an early holiday celebration in May was actually a meaningful charity event sponsored by Universal Studios Hollywood for 1000 family guests living in poverty.
Their “Christmas in the Spring” took place this weekend at, Meet Each Need with Dignity, facilities parking-lot where it was transformed into a winter-wonderland with several booths run by Universal Studios employees. Many families supported by M.E.N.D were provided with holiday cheer as kids were able to enjoy arts and crafts, games, free books and food.
There were also special appearances by Spongebob, Scooby Doo, Shaggy, King Julian, Puss N’ Boots and of course Santa Claus.
Universal Studios Hollywood and its “Discover A Star” foundation provides grants to deserving organizations whose initiative is to help individuals and families achieve more productive and fulfilling lives.
The 27th annual celebration continues to provide the heart-warming initiative for families of poverty in the San Fernando Valley. Its Christmas theme creates the joy of holiday cheer and expresses the initial message that every day is the season for giving and spreading joyful cheer, or in this case, holiday cheer.
