CONCACAF announced Thursday the dates and kickoff times for the semifinal round of the most prestigious club tournament in the region – 2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League.
The quarterfinals culminated Wednesday and saw the two most popular teams of Liga MX: Club America and CD Guadalajara join two MLS teams: current champions Toronto FC and New York Red Bulls in the semifinal round.
This tenth edition is the first to feature a home-and-away format. Toronto FC will kickoff this round, hosting Club America on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 5 p.m. PST. The following night, CD Guadalajara will host NY Red Bulls at the Akron Stadium with kickoff time set at 7 p.m. PST.
Both second-leg matchups will take place on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, in New York City and Mexico City. NY Red Bulls will welcome CD Guadalajara at the Red Bull Arena at 5 p.m. PST, followed by Club America hosting Toronto FC at the Estadio Azteca at 7 p.m. PST.
Since Club America and NY Red Bulls accumulated the most points (10) through the four matches of the round of 16 and quarterfinals, they have earned the right to host the second leg of the semifinals.
The finals, home and away, will be played during the last two weeks of April and the champions will represent the region in the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
