Discover the “Land” of Pandora

How many times have you wondered what you would look like as Na’Vi? Well Avatar fans, you may not be able to permanently turn your skin blue, but what if you could experience what life would be like as one of them?

Prepare yourselves for a sneak peak of Pandora coming to life! It was announced earlier that Pandora will be the newest land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This will be the largest expansion in the Animal Kingdom’s history.
Guests will fly with banshees and discover mountains that float.

A video of a walkthrough of the development with James Cameron and Chief Operating Officer Tom Staggs was shared by Disney Parks Blog. Staggs described the land as “…an exciting set of attractions unlike any our guests have experienced.”

In the video you can see models and layouts of the magical jungle. They even show some of the props that will be used. The plants have so much detail and their glowing affect really caught my eye.The part that looks super awesome is the floor that looks like you are leaving your foot prints on of the galaxy.

The Chief Creative Executive from Walt Disney Imagineering, Bruce Vaughn, mentioned that Cameron said, “I think one of the things that people loved about the movie is that they felt as if they had visited Pandora… now, thanks to Disney’s amazing Imagineers, people are going to truly experience Pandora firsthand. From the details in the plants to the production and design, extraordinary thought and care has gone into this entire world. The teams have really created something special, and it’s not going to be like anything else.”

I can only imagine what else the Imagineers will come up with. Take a look at the video and see for yourself! The Land of Avatar is reported to be complete in early 2017.
