Today was Disney Parks and Resorts day at the convention with previews of new attractions that you will be seeing soon at the parks. The press conference was to give an overview presentation of what to expect was given by Walt Disney President of Park and Resorts, Tom Staggs gave the key note address. Starting with the new expansion of the Fantasyland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The new expansion is one of the biggest in any park adding new restaurants, meet and great and also attraction. One of the new attractions to be added to this section is the “Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Ride”. A the first of its kind at any Disney park will allow riders to see the Seven Dwarfs work in there mine as you ride on swivel mine carts. The conference continued with a sneak peak at the newest Disney Resort in Hawaii, Aulani. The resort which opens its doors to the public on August 29 with a grand opening in September will be the first Disney resort on the islands. It caters to each of your families needs, teens looking for adventure and adults looking for some rest and relaxation. Play area water way for the kids, lazy river, scuba diving and a personal beach are just some of the amazing memories to create.

They also gave us a look at one of the most ambitious make over not only for Disney but in the theme park industry. There has never been a park that has been completely made over during normal operation and after the park has open. The Disney California Adventure remodel projects were started in 2008 with the beginnings of the remodel of the Paradise Pier section of the park which was just completed this July with the completion of the Goofy Sky School coaster and the new turn of the clock eating area. speak work has been going on at the front of the park with the opening of the new entrance and now Buena Vista Street

section of the park. This will be similar to Disneyland’s Main Street U.S.A. but instead of giving you a sense of the small town Walt grew up in, California Adventures entrance will be a turn back the clock to what Los Angeles looked like in the 1920’s when Walt Disney first arrived in the city. As you walk thru the turnstile and go under the monorail bridge you will see the new hub of the park. In the hub will be the rebuilt Cathay Circle theater which was located off of Los Feliz Blvd and Wilshire in the museum district. The theater was were they premiered Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

We also got a look into the new land at the park, Cars Land. Cars Land brings you into Radiator Springs from the Cars movies. You can get on Luigi’s Flying Tires, an updated take of the flying saucers originally at Tomorrowland in the

1960’s. You can go see that friendly tow truck, Mater at his tow yard for Mater’s Junk Yard Jamboree. Get a bite to eat at Flo’s V8 cafe or at the cozy cone inn. Though the E-ticket attraction of this new section of the park will be Radiator Springs Racer. On the attraction you enter the sues to learn the history of of Radiator Springs came to be before you get into you own race car and take a thrill packed trip around town running into some of your favorite characters from the films. You will be able to experience all this next summer at California Adventure.

Disneyland will not be left out with a new addition of its own. Fantasyland will be expanded a bit into the old Carnation

Ice Cream area of the park and they will build Fantasy Faire which will give your kids the chance to meet and greet your favorite disney princesses as well as be apart of the entertainment offerings before entering Fantasyland.

Next year look to be a big year at the Disney Parks and Resorts but they also gave us a sneak peek at what Shanghai Disneyland’s Castle will look like. Being a castle that is not for once Princess but all of the Disney Princesses  with restaurants and being the first castle in the Disney parks to include a ride. A lot to look forward to next year and the future and today at D23 will be movie day at the convention and tickets are still available to be apart of the magic at the Anaheim Convention Center.
