As we get closer to the 2021 Olympics, Peacock and UNINTERRUPTED released more details today about Original docuseries Golden: The Journey of USA’s Elite Gymnasts.

The six-episode series take fans behind the scenes as Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez, Morgan Hurd, Sunisa Lee, Konnor McClain, and MyKayla Skinner compete for the four coveted Team USA roster spots. This documentary shows the five athletes’ personal accomplishments, struggles, and sacrifices, commentary from current and former Olympic athletes, parents, coaches, and industry experts on what it takes to compete at the highest level, and milestone events including the National Team training camp and Olympic qualifying competition. In other words they are working hard to follow their dream in competing for the Olympics but it can defiantly be a challenge. Like Suni lee mentioned in the trailer ” Its just a scary feeling and you only have one chance to be perfect.”

President & Chief Executive Officer, USA Gymnastics Li Li Leung mentioned how the gymnasts stories will bring an inspiration to the audience when it comes to hard work.

“All of the athletes competing this summer have shown a tremendous amount of perseverance, resilience and strength throughout their athletic careers and especially over this unexpected last year,” said Leung. “We are heartened and delighted that this project will share the unique stories, perspectives and voices of some of these incredible individuals with a broader audience.”

Golden: The Journey of USA’s Elite Gymnasts is produced by Sports Emmy-award winning brand UNINTERRUPTED which is a brand division of The SpringHill Company, the global consumer and entertainment brand created to empower greatness in every individual built by none other than LeBron James and Maverick Carter. The people behind this brand also features executive producer Dominique Dawes, a Three-time Olympian who serves alongside LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson and Philip Byron. Including the showrunner of the docuseries which includes Katy Murakami and Randy Stulberg, along with Harrison Macks and JP Stiles, who are directing and executive producing with Camille Maratchi and Arielle Kilker as Co-EPs.

With Peacock’s countdown to Tokyo programming it includes Michael Phelps: Medals, Memories and MoreThe Greatest RaceMy Pursuit: Life, Legacy, & Jordan Burroughs and In Deep with Ryan Lochte. The stream platform also recently announced other additional sports programming premiering this summer such as The ’96 EffectSisters of ‘96 and four daily shows on Peacock’s Tokyo NOW Channel, Tokyo LIVETokyo GoldOn Her Turf At The Olympics, and Tokyo Tonight.
