Facebook Live Video (may) Kill the YouTube Star

Facebook may be late to the live streaming game but may pull ahead with a new streaming live feature that makes it easier for fans to interact with their favorite celebrities similar to Meerkat and Periscope.
Starting today, public figures can share live video from Facebook Mentions, the app that makes it easy for athletes, musicians, politicians and other influencers to talk with their fans and each other. You can discover these live videos from public figures you follow in your News Feed.
While it may not be available to the public yet, it should roll out to all Facebook users in due time.
Here are some key highlights and advantages of Facebook Live Stream:
You can comment on, like or share the video while watching a live broadcast.
You can also see when your friends or other public figures start watching.
If you don’t catch the live broadcast, you can also watch the video later on the public figure’s Page.
Facebook Live stream could help creative content publishers gain revenue from exclusive live casts and also help publishers monetize content through target ads.
Unlike Snapchat and Meerkat, Facebook allows marketers to buy targeted ads.
