We all knew the hiatus was coming, we just didn’t know it would come so soon. Monday morning girl group Fifth Harmony announced that they are taking a break.
“To our Harmonizers, thank you for everything we have been able to build as Fifth Harmony. With your love and encouragement we will continue to build on ourselves, support one another in everything we do, and keep making you proud, each other proud and ourselves proud,” the statement read.
Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane Hansen, Lauren Jauregui, and Normani Kordei are the four members that comprise Fifth Harmony. Simon Cowell formed the group on the second season of the “X Factor,” in 2012. Originally there were five members, which included singer Camila Cabello. She parted ways from the group in late 2016. Since then Cabello has produced a numerous amount of hits. Her song “Havana,” spent 31 weeks on the Billboard chart at the time it was released.
The other ladies of Fifth Harmony have been juggling their own solo projects while still being a part of the band, just like Cabello. Kordei released the single “Love Lies” with Khalid last month, and Jauregui has been featured on songs with Halsey and Ty Dolla Sign.
Fifth Harmony did have a very successful run the past 6 years together. Their singles “Worth It,” and “Work from Home,” were both chart-topping hits. According to the statement, the girl group says it will perform their remaining 2018 shows.
MUSE interviews the group in 2013 at the D23 Expo, you can see the interview below when they performed for the Next Big Thing. They did that and went even farther to become stars.
