Maggie Simpson in The Longest Daycare20th Century Fox released the Oscar nominated short film that starred Maggie Simpson of The Simpsons in “The Longest Daycare” on YouTube. The four and a half minute animated short film that was released prior to the start of last years Ice Age: Continental Drift has been a standout of a short film but fell short on Sunday to the Disney animated short, “Paperman“,  that took the trophy in the best animated short category.

In the short “The Longest Daycare“, Maggie Simpson spends a day at the Ayn Rand Daycare Center where she is diagnosed at an average intelligence level. Longing to be grouped with the gifted children, Maggie finds her destiny by rescuing a lonely cocoon from Baby Gerald, who is busy smooshing butterflies.

The short was directed by The Simpsons veteran David Silverman and can be viewed below.
