Interview with Ben-Hur Star Jack Huston

We were able to sit down with the stars as Judah Ben-Hur in the film Ben-Hur which will be in theaters this Friday.

BEN-HUR is the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army.  Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery.  After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption.  Based on Lew Wallace’s timeless novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ.  Also starring Morgan Freeman and Rodrigo Santoro.

Huston talked about the epic chariot racing scene in the film, “I was very comfortable and confident with horses; I could ride like I could walk. I thought that would give me a leg-up. But nothing really prepares you for a chariot — four horses and the end of your rein. There’s a reason why we still refer to the power of cars as “horse-power.” It’s like something you’ve never felt before. And the horses loved it. They just want to run. They’re basically racing each other. They don’t even know they’ve got a 150-pound person behind them.”

Ben-Hur is in theaters on Friday, August 19 and you can hear the interview with Jack Huston below.
