Jenny and The Mexicats will finally return to the US for their tenth anniversary beginning this Wednesday, February 28.
Often described as a “fusion” band, that not only mixes the rhythms of jazz, rockabilly, folk, flamenco, reggae and cumbia, they have also been known to combine “nationalities and personalities” through their members with English woman, Jenny, the lead singer and trumpeter backed by her “Mexicats;” double bassist and Spaniard, Icho and Mexican guitarist, Pantera and drummer, David.
The band received success in 2011 with their first self-titled album that brought a Gold Record for its union of bilingual lyrics of English and Spanish and later the international recognition for itse singles such as “Verde Más Allá,” “Me Voy a Ir” and “Flor.” Their recognition continued with the release of their second album in 2014 “OME” that included the single “Labios” featured in the “Amor de mis Amores” movie soundtrack.
Besides the tour that will hit 19 US cities, Jenny and The Mexicats released a special music video in wake of their anniversary that shows the journey over the past ten years from behind the scenes in the studio to intimate moments from their performances and tours.
