Saturday, Dec. 12th marked the would have 100th birthday of icon Frank Sinatra and the place he made a legendary hot spot celebrated with a bang. Las Vegas was Sinatra’s second home since he spent a great deal of his career performing in the best hotels on the Strip such as Caesar’s Palace, The Golden Nugget, and The Sands Hotel and Casino. Sinatra’s daughter, Tina Sinatra and granddaughter, Amanda Erlinger came to the celebration and spoke about how much Sinatra loved Las Vegas and what he would think of the grand transformation of the Strip today.

Sinatra is known for being the one that gave Vegas the star power to become the entertainment capital of the world. He opened up the Strip for resident performances at the lavish hotels which now house world famous performers such as Elton John, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, and many more. This celebration led to a star-studded taped TV special at the Wynn Las Vegas featuring the ranks of Celine Dion, Garth Brooks, Lady Gaga, and John Legend. The special aired on Dec. 6th on CBS to top ratings. This only goes to show that Sinatra will forever be the “chairman of the board” and have a hold on Vegas in the best way.
