Lead Singer Of The Monkees, Davy Jones Dead at 66

TMZ.com is reporting that The Monkees lead singer, Davy Jones passed away this morning from a heart attack his representatives released this morning.

It was confirmed with an official medical examiner’s office from Marin County, Florida.

Jones joined The Monkees in 1965 with Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork. The TV show can still be seen in reruns today and the band was still touring as of last year. Some of the songs  such as “Daydream Believer” and “Last Train To Clarksville” became memorable songs and the band has worked with such greats as Neil Diamond who wrote the song, “I am a Believer“.

Jones is survived by his with Jessica and four daughters from previous marriages.
