The multicultural New Media star Lele Pons and Brazil’s top-charting young superstar Anitta took home awards at the MTV Millennial Awards in Mexico City.
Lele Pons who was also the co-host of last year’s MTV MIAW was nominated and awarded the Global Instagrammer of the year. She has previously been named to TIME’s, “30 Most Influential People on the Internet, FORBES’ list of the top entertainment influencers of 2017 and Nylon’s recent cover story on the “25 Gen Z’ers Changing The World.”
Pons has also been named as the new host for La Voz, México – the country’s highly-rated prime time version of The Voice. She is currently closing in on surpassing major online milestones with 25 Million Instagram followers and 10 Million YouTube subscribers.
ANITTA has also quickly risen to global prominence across the last year for her multiplatinum hits and collaborations with JBalvin.
She took the stage to perform a medley of those recent hits and the “Hit of the Year” Award for “DOWNTOWN,” her single duet with J Balvin, which fittingly starred Lele Pons in the early official lyric video that surpassed 200 million views.
Folowing the MTV MIAW in Mexico, Annitta returend to Brazil and perfomred as a headliner for the São Paulo LGBT Pride Parade, attracting over a million people.
The two stars have broken media records. Pons alone has nine million subscribers with videos that earn over 110 million monthly views, and Anitta with 25.5 million Instagram followers and more than 5.5 million YouTube subscribers.
Their multicultural creativity has sparked popularity and has allowed them to connect with a global audience.
