The festival is scheduled to start at 12pm and run until 12am. The Ceremonial Altar Set-Up will be on Friday, October 23rd from 3pm and on.

Lila is a singer and songwriter whose background has influenced her career. She is the daughter of a Mixtec Indian Woman and a University of Minnesota professor. She grew up both in Minnesota and Oaxaca. Lila composes originals songs that are often striking commentaries on social conditions, reflecting migration and the search for roots as a core human need. She weaves various musical forms with traditional Mexican and Mesoamerican music. She sings in Spanish, English and the languages of the Mixtec, Zapotec, Maya and Nahuatl cultures. Her stupendous voice and her original compositions create a musical concept that is highly innovative and unique.

Lila Downs has produced 10 studio albums. Her album “Pecados y Milagros” earned her a Grammy and a Latin Grammy Award. Her first Latin Grammy was for the 2004 release, “Una Sangre.” Her album “RAIZ” garnered her two 2014 Latin Grammy nominations for “Album of the Year” and “Best Folk Album.”
