Los Angeles Lakers: Trade For Howard Completed, Pending League Approval

The trade Los Angeles has been waiting for has finally happened pending the approval of the league office in the morning on August 10. Dwight Howard the Orlando Magic center is coming to the Los Angeles Lakers in a four team trade that will send Andrew Bynum to the Philadelphia 76ers and Jason Richardson with the Denver Nuggets getting Andre Iguodala.
The Orlando Magic will recieve Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic and three first-round draft picks. If approved this will be in addition to major moves made in the offseason by the Lakers starting with the addition of point guard Steve Nash.
The starting fine will be huge with Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant at guard. Pau Gasol and Meta World Peace at forward with Dwight Howard at center. Does this make the Lakers the team to beat in the west? That is still left to be seen with the Oklahoma Thunder the Western Conference Champions and games have not been played yet. If Howard’s back is fully healed and Steve Nash feeding him the ball they will be in control of the West.
Howard moved to Los Angeles in March and is currently living in Southern California. We will see how it goes throughout the season as Howard does have the option to be a free agent in the summer of 2013.
