Lucasfilm Ltd. kicked off the 2022 Star Wars Celebration held in Anaheim, CA today with glimpses of new and upcoming shows coming to Disney+.

The presentation begin with Hayden Christensen and Ewan Macgregor taking the stage welcoming the fans prior to the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ tomorrow. They also announced that tonight the guest in the panel will be the first to watch the first two episodes later in the day.

Diego Luna and the cast of the upcoming Disney+ series Andor took the stage and showed the teaser poster with the date of release as August 31, 2023. The series will be released in two-parts. The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is the creator and showrunner.

In addition Disney+ unveiled the teaser trailer for Lucasfilm and Imagine Entertainment’s “Willow” an all-new live-action fantasy adventure series based on the classic 1988 feature film, at the Lucasfilm studio showcase panel at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim today. “Willow” will premiere November 30, 2022, exclusively on Disney+.

An epic period fantasy series with a modern sensibility set in an enchanted land of breathtaking beauty, “Willow” features a diverse international cast with Jonathan Kasdan, Ron Howard, Wendy Mericle, Kathleen Kennedy, and Michelle Rejwan serving as executive producers. The story began with an aspiring magician from a Nelwyn village and an infant girl destined to unite the realms, who together helped destroy an evil queen and banish the forces of darkness. Now, in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other mystical creatures flourish, the adventure continues, as an unlikely group of heroes set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home, where they must face their inner demons and come together to save their world. 

Other mentions in the panel was that Ahsoka series is currently under production and The Mandalorian Season 3 has finished production and currently in post. Both series are set to be released on Disney+ in 2023.

A new show was also announced Star Wars Skeleton Crew. The show will be following kids that are lost in the Star Wars Galaxy and Jude Law is set to star in the show. It is being created by Spider-Man director John Watts and will be released on Disney+ in 2023.
