The Music Spotlight Series at â€œ5Towersâ€ continued its’ streak at Universal CityWalk on July 19th, with the performance of GRAMMY winning mariachi, Mariachi Divas.
Founded in 1999 by Cindy Shea, who also serves as the director and trumpet player, Mariachi Divas has gain recognition for being an all-female mariachi. The mariachi is composed by 13 women, who prove that girl power is defiantly brought to the stage.
Mariachi Divas prove that you do not have to be Latino/Hispanic to form part of such diverse group of women. It could be said that the diversity that composes the mariachi is vital to the success of the group. Everyone comes together to create a sound that is unique in that of its own.
With a GRAMMY award for Best Regional Mexican Music Album, along with five GRAMMY nominations and a Latin GRAMMY nomination under their belt, they continue to makes music.
Fifteen years after first hitting the stage, they are now celebrating 15 years together by releasing, â€œ15 ANIVERSARIO.â€ Released on June 24th, this makes it their 10th studio album.
Mariachi Divas performs regularly in family friendly public events around Southern California free of charge to the public.Â
