Mariah Carey’s name was finally immortalized as she received the 2,556th Hollywood Walk of Fame Star earlier today. As the best-selling female artist, Mariah Carey has 18 hot No. 1 single hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and it is the most any solo artist has in history.
Mariah’s “Lambs” as she likes to call her fans waited impatiently and eager for the ceremony begin. As fans held their signs and sang to her hit songs that were playing, they were chanting Mariah’s name awaiting her appearance. When Mariah made her way to the podium everyone got full of excitement.
During the ceremony guest speakers included: Antonio “LA” Reid, Brett Ratner, and Lee Daniels. Lee shared some exciting news for “Empire” fans and said Mariah will be in season 2 as a guest star.
Before taking the podium she was told that today was declared as “Mariah Carey Day” in Hollywood.
As she began to say thank you to everyone, her 4 year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan took the spot light and said “I you mommy,” and the fans awed. She responded with “I love you babies.”
The 45 year-old singer continued with thanking everyone for joining her on this special day. The ceremony ended with her saying “It’s a childhood dream come true and I’m very very honored. Thank you very very much.” After being interviewed by press, Mariah signed a few autographs for her fans and was escorted out by security to a private after party. For those who wish to visit her star, it is located at the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Argyle Ave across the street from the Pantages Theatre.
