Mark Ronson performs DJ set at Amoeba Music

Mark Ronson was joined onstage by Mystikal, MDNR and Alex Greenwald of Phantom Planet for a special DJ set Wednesday night at Amoeba Music in Hollywood.

Hundreds of fans crowded Amoeba’s aisles for a chance to watch Ronson perform old and new hits including the Bruno Mars collaboration, “Uptown Funk,” and 2007’s “Valerie,” featuring Amy Winehouse on vocals.

The record store hosted Ronson and friends to celebrate the vinyl release of his highly acclaimed album Uptown Special on April 7. Fans were able to purchase a copy of his album for a special signing after the free, all-ages show.

Uptown Special, the fourth album by the English DJ and producer was released on Jan. 13. In a post shared on his Instagram page, Ronson said the album was dedicated to the late Amy Winehouse.

“For some reason, the dedication section was left off my album printing. I’m sure they’ll fix it for the future, but for public record…This album is dedicated to the memory of Teenie Hodges and DJ Mehdi. And to Amy Winehouse – although I wish you were still here, I’m always thinking of you, inspired by you and your music lives on in myself and everyone who ever felt it. Love, Mark,” read the post.

The album includes “Uptown’s First Finale” featuring Stevie Wonder and Andrew Wyatt. Kevin Parker, lead singer of Tame Impala is featured on “Daffodils,” and “Leaving Los Feliz.”

The majority of the album’s lyrics written by Michael Chabon, Ronson’s favorite living author.
