Method Man: The Meth Lab Album to Drop this Fall

“Welcome to the Meth Lab, listen its time to cook…”

It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard from Method Man. The legendary rapper career traces back to him as an originator of the Wu-Tang Clan, as well as to his acting career–including roles in The Wire, television series, and as Silas in How High.

His last solo project was 2006’s 4:21 …The Day After. Despite this being one of Meth’s strongest solo accomplishments thus far, the album failed to do well in marketing due to it lacking a video and single. But now he is back with his latest release, The Meth Lab, with an animated album trailer.

In the trailer, you’ll see an animated Method Man chase down Jesse and Mr. White, from Breaking Bad, to take over their meth making business. It also contains a snippet of the title track and first single

This idea isn’t far reached, as his studio has been known as The Meth Lab for years. Therefore, it makes sense why he’d adopt the Breaking Bad theme.

The Meth Lab was first presented as a mixtape last year, but the delay has allowed the project to be metamorphosed from mixtape into a LP.

On June 1 Method Man shared the official artwork for the LP (posted above), as well as the release date, Aug. 21.

The Meth Lab will be released via Tommy Boy Entertainment and featuring Redman, Raekwon, Hanz On, Streetlife, and others.
