MTV Movie Awards Nominees: Vote Now!

Award season has come and nearly gone, but not without giving fans another glimpse of their favorite celebrities on the MTV Movie Awards red carpet.

The awards will air live from the Nokia Theater on Sunday, April 12. Hosting the event for the first time this year is comedian Amy Schumer, best known for her work as creator and star of her television series Inside Amy Schumer.

Like other traditional award ceremonies, the MTV Movie Awards will pay homage to classic categories such as movie of the year, best female and male performances and top breakthrough performance. Also included in the lineup are other, more unique awards that make winning the coveted Golden Popcorn all the more fun. This includes “best kiss, “best fight,” “best shirtless performance”, “best WTF moment” and “best scared-as-s**t performance.”

Films expected to take home the most wins are Guardians of the Galaxy, The Fault in Our Stars and Neighbors, with seven nominations each. Whiplash and 22 Jump Street are also in the lead with five nominations apiece. Oscar nominated films like Gone Girl, American Sniper, Foxcatcher and Boyhood are also up for awards.

Fans can help their favorite celebrities and films win by voting. Participants can vote as many times as they like, they simply have to log on to MTV.com using their Facebook or Twitter accounts to cast a ballot. But, fans only have until Saturday, April 11 to do so. The deadline includes all categories except the movie of the year award, which will allow fans to continue voting until the award is presented at the end of the program.

The awards will air Sunday, April 12 at 8 PM. For a complete list of nominees, check out the list below and stay tuned for M.U.S.E.’s coverage of the event.
