From growing up on a sugar cane farm in Puerto Rico to his widely known celebrity role of delivering daily horoscope readings and predictions on Mexican television. Mucho Mucho Amor, releasing globally July 8th, tells the story of Walter Mercado’s early life and career.

For decades, Mercado reached viewers around the globe, religiously people awaited his daily readings and tuned in routinely. At his peak, he reached over 120 million viewers. Regarded as a legend throughout the Latino community, he established his presence and captivated viewers with his unique charisma, extravagant personality and mesmerizing wardrobe. One day in 2007, however, he mysteriously disappeared.

Over a decade later, award-winning directors and producers Cristina Costantini (Science Fair, Festival Favorite Award at Sundance Film Festival, Emmy and Critics’ Choice Award for best first-time director) and Kareem Tabsch (Dolphin Lover, Best Short Doc Award at LA Film Festival), along with Alex Fumero producer and creative developer (I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson) gain access and illustrate the last two years of his life.

With features Walter Mercado, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Eugenio Derbez and Raul de Molina, the film strives to celebrate Mercado’s milestones and the famous phrase he lived by “Mucha paz, pero sobre todo mucho mucho amor”, peace, but above all love.
