New Virtual Reality Game Brings Horror To A New Level

This weekend Paramount Pictures will release the new Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension but in select theaters around the country patrons will be able to experience the film in a new way. VRWERX, a division of Beast Media Group Company created a fully immersive game that brings you into the Paranormal Experience.

The Paranormal Activity Virtual Reality gam demo that we tried uses the HTC Vive virtual reality headset and two hand controllers that mimic your hands in the virtual space. The games is a first person horror survival game playable on all major virtual reality head mounted displays.

You then begin in a dark closet with no sound until you step out of the closet and the ceiling music fills the headphones and the thrills begin.

The VR experience was one of the best I have tried so far with images that looked life like from the colors of the walls to the lighting on the ceiling. The unit actually track your movement so as you walk around the room it will sense you movement in the environment. As of now you must use the controllers to avoid getting hurt but I was told by the company that their will be camera’s on the unit that will sense and notify you when objects are near.

Overall, the experience is one not to miss especially since Halloween is next weekend and with all the haunted attractions around this must be added to your list. The finished game will be available next spring on PlayStation VR and Oculus as well as non-VR versions of the game will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam.
