Odyssey Innovative Designs (Odyssey), a leading design, manufacturer and distributor of cases and accessories for the professional audio market, celebrates 25 years in the MI business, servicing the DJ and pro audio market.
Founded in 1995, Mario Montano and John Hsiao both came from entrepreneurial backgrounds in the 1980s as a local DJ/event producer and a record store owner, respectively. Recognizing a need to protect his DJ equipment, Montano began building custom protective cases in his garage, which Hsiao began selling in his store to the local DJ community. Ready-made, cost-effective, protective cases for pro audio equipment that DJs can conveniently buy from their local record store was the foundation of Odyssey Cases. Twenty-five years later, Odyssey would become the industry-leader in productive solutions for DJ and pro audio equipment, innovating alongside the analog-to-digital DJ movement, expanded into live event trussing systems with Show Solutions, and building a robust distribution business that includes brands such as Serato and Gruv Glide.
