Ozomatli to Endorse Bernie Sanders at East LA Rally

By November 14, 2019No Comments

East Los Angeles’ own Latin/funk/hip-hop band Ozomatli will join Sen. Bernie Sanders on Saturday, November 16 at his rally in Salazar Park.

Since their inception in 1995, Ozo has represented Los Angeles’ culture through innovative blends of modern Latino, funk and hip-hop styles. The band has won multiple awards, including a Grammy for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album and a Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. The band is vocal about social justice issues, including the fight for workers’ rights and peace amongst people, cultures and nations.

“Ozomatli supports Senator Sanders and his call for a more equal American society,” said Raul Pacheco, guitarist and lead vocalist for Ozomatli. “Our music reflects that sentiment with a spirit of inclusiveness and diversity, it is in line with Senator Sanders’ message and we are happy to be a part of his campaign.”

At the rally, the band will perform a set before Sanders is joined by local leaders and activists fighting for economic, environmental, social and racial justice for working families across America.

If you would like to attend the rally this Saturday please click on the RSVP link below for more details.
