Although it may seem that the name of songwriter Poo Bear has burst into the public consciousness of music fans over just the last few years due to Justin Bieber’s frequent praise of their collaborative work, those in the know behind the scenes likely recognize Atlanta’s Jason Boyd as today’s youngest songwriter to already notch 20 years of chart-topping hits after penning his very first platinum track at the age of 14 for hometown R&B group 112.
Since that early professional start, Poo Bear has unquestionably been one of popular music’s most prolific and consistent hitmakers, working with an unprecedented list of artists including Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Pink, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Usher, Common, Fat Joe, Lil Wayne, Patti LaBelle, Faith Evans, Lupe Fiasco and many more. Poo Bear’s most recent work has continued to make him a constant chart presence over the last two years with multiple hits from Justin Bieber, Sam Smith, Jennifer Lopez, David Guetta, DJ Khaled, and new work in Latin music with J Balvin, Juanes, and his songwriting contribution to the record-breaking “Despacito Remix”.
“Poo Bear On Creating Top-Selling Songs… the phrase ‘Happy Birthday’ is not the typical greeting one might use to introduce themselves… but Poo Bear, is not your typical person. ‘Happy Birthday is a lifestyle… When you wake up every day, it’s like a new birthday, it’s a new chance to be great again and make great decisions’… Poo Bear has a lot to celebrate as the Grammy-award winning songwriter [recently had]…the top-three selling songs on the Digital Song Sales chart.” – Billboard
Now, wanting to transition to a much more personal way to share his artistry, Poo Bear is looking to dedicate his time toward continued ‘Passion projects’ with artists he already enjoys close working relationships, unique cross-genre collaborative projects for film & TV, and most immediately, the first of what will be an ongoing series of personalized “Poo Bear Presents…” releases.
Having long been known for his unique greeting that everyday should be treated as if it was a ‘Happy Birthday,” this May will see the first release of the series with “Poo Bear Presents Bearthday Music” – a special bilingual collaborative album. Appropriately, the album’s first advance single arrived last September on Poo Bear’s own birthday with the release of “Will I See You” with Brazilian superstar Anitta, and continued with the late November release of “All We Can Do” featuring Juanes.
Pre-Sale begins on April 6th for the album, with the additional advance release of “Hard To Face Reality” Featuring Justin Bieber.
