Put Your Pink On! Susan G Komen’s Race for the Cure is Coming to Town!

Put your pink on! The Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure Los Angeles, will kick off at Dodger Stadium, on Sunday March 11th.  The fundraiser holds both a 5k run or walk if you prefer, as well as a more ambitious 10k. The event raises both funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement. It’s a moving day where you can celebrate the incredible people who have survived breast cancer and also honor those who have tragically lost their battle with this deadly disease. The Susan G. Komen organization was started with a mission to end breast cancer forever.

To date, they have invested more than $2.6 billion for groundbreaking research. The Race for the Cure series launched back in 1983, in Dallas, Texas and is now global, with more than 150 Races and 1 million people participating across 4 continents. The statistics are staggering, with 1 in 8 women in the U.S. receiving a breast cancer diagnosis. The disease has no boundaries, affecting people of every age, gender, socio-economic status and location. The Susan G. Komen is the only organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy.

In addition to the races, there are so many other ways you can support this incredible cause. The Susan G. Komen L.A. County organization needs help with community programs and educational fair events. Breast cancer survivors can also lend their voice to speaking opportunities across the city. You and your friends can host Passionately Pink fundraisers too. Get great ideas at http://ww5.komen.org.
