The Comedy Celebration Helps Benefit theÂ International Myeloma Foundations (IMF) in honor of the late Peter Boyle
Emmy winning actor and comedian Ray Romano; best known for his role in the hit sitcom Everybody Loves Raymon.Â Will once again; be stepping into the role of host at the International Myeloma Foundations (IMF), 10th Annual Comedy Celebration. This celebration will benefit the Peter Boyle Research Fund and support the Black Swan Research Fund. Peter Boyle, who was a well renowned actor and worked alongside Romano, on Everybody Loves Raymond. Passed away in late 2006 after battling multiple myeloma, which is a debilitating cancer of the bone marrow. It was that following year that his wife started the 1st Annual Comedy Celebration, which Romano had also hosted and many of Boyles closest friends attended. Over $550,000 was raised that year for the Peter Boyle Memorial Fund in support of IMFs ground breaking research programs, like the Black Swan Fund. Who are using a bold approach in finding a cure for myeloma, by detecting the diseases at its earliest point and eradicating it.
IMFâ€™s research department, International Myeloma Working Group; is comprised of top myeloma researchers from 35 countries, all working together to find a definite cure. Who this year found themselves with the ability to launch two targeted Cure Trials.
The celebration this year will be held at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre, on Saturday November 5th. With comedic performances by Bill Burr, Jess Garlin, Dom Irrera, Larry Miller, Kevin Nealon, JB Smoove, Fred Willard, and more that are soon to be announced. This yearâ€™s festivities will also honor Peter Boyleâ€™s wife, Lorain Alterman Boyle. From getting over 50 celebrity comedians and musical performers to attend the event since the first one in 2007, to raising over $5 million for the research fund in her husbandâ€™s name. This event will honor all of her extraordinary work as event chair for the past 10 years.
