Country legend, Merle Hagger was not just a beloved country singer, but also a well honored and awarded one too. He has earned a Kennedy Center Award, a Grammy lifetime achievement award and a BMI Icon Award. He was also indicted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, as well the Country Music and Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Hagger, passed away from pneumonia complications at the age of 79 in his home at Palo Cedro, California. Â
