
Regarded as one of the greatest players in the sport of professional golf. Arnold Palmer, was nicknamed “The King,†having won numerous events in both the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Championship. He was one golf’s most notable trailblazers; for his humble background and plain spoken ways helped change the perception of golf. His social impact was unmatched by other golfers. Throughout his career he has won 62 PGA Tour titles, seven majors, and was the recipient of the PGA Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998. Palmer passed away at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center, while waiting heart surgery at the age of 87. He had been admitted into the hospital a few days earlier, for heart testing.
