New Zealand based non-fungible token (NFT) digital collectible App VeVe just announced a new partnership with Ron English, an icon American pop culture artist.

English is making his creative pop culture characters from collector pieces to tradable digital collectibles in the form of a NFT, a digital asset with verified ownership records stored on a public blockchain ledger. What we know about his collaboration with NFT is that it will bring limited edition digital collectibles of his POPaganda characters and artwork onto the blockchain as verifiable digital art and collectibles. The first serious called Rabbbit Grin, includes an edition of 100 digital and physical sculptures. If the buyer were to mark first, he/she will not only receive a digital Rabbbit Grin NFT which can be displayed in augmented reality (AR) on the VeVe App, but will also be delivered a matching, limited edition physical Chrome Rabbbit Grin sculpture featuring a serial number from the series.

According to CEO of the VeVe platform David Yu, he says “Artists like Ron often make their artwork scarce by creating numbered, limited editions of their prints, but with VeVe digital collectibles we will be transforming his creations into 2D & 3D digital tradable virtual assets.” “Ron’s POPaganda paintings and toy creations are other-worldly, and we are very excited to have Ron as our premier artist, and to bring his visions to life in the new virtual world.”

Ron English is not only a most prolific and recognizable artists but has bombed the global landscape with unforgettable images on the street, museums, movies, books and television. English coined the term POPaganda to describe his signature mash-up of high and low cultural touchstones, superhero mythology to totems of art history, populated with his vast and constantly growing arsenal of original characters, including MC Supersized, the obese fast-food mascot featured in the hit movie “Supersize Me,” and Abraham Obama, the fusion of America’s 16th and 44th Presidents, an image widely discussed in the media as directly impacting the 2008 election.  Other characters carousing through English’s art, in paintings, billboards, and sculpture include three-eyed rabbits, udderly delicious cowgirls and grinning skulls, blending stunning visuals with the bitingly humorous undertones of America’s Premier Pop Iconoclast.

Back in 2005, Ron English started creating designer toy versions of his creatures, and has made hundreds of designer toy collectibles to be sold and avidly collected worldwide.

He says his creations such as paintings and characters come from the mini world in which he lived. “Before I paint, I create sculptures of each character and the surrounding world in which they live, out of air-dried clay,” English said. “I have been watching the rise of blockchain based NFT artworks and I am excited to see my creations come to life as 2D and 3D digital collectible NFTs in VeVe’s virtual world.”

VeVe application was founded in 2018 and created by collectors and for collectors to bring premium licensed NFT digital collectibles to the mass market. Over 250,000 active users and 500,000 NFTs were sold, as it grew. VeVe happens to be one of the top grossing Entertainment Apps and first mobile digital collectibles platform in both Google Play and Apple stores.  Utilizing both blockchain and augmented reality technologies, VeVe even offers premium licensed collectibles from leading brands which includes DC Comics and Warner Bros, Cartoon Network, tokidoki, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future and much more. For the first time, these brands can provide customization to collectibles after their initial sale, creating endless revenue possibilities for products both new and previously offered. VeVe’s 3D augmented reality photo mode also allows collectors to interact with every digital collectible, as well as  d share their collectibles through VeVe’s in-app social feed or on other social platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and more.

Not to mention in March 2021, VeVe committed to 100% carbon neutral NFTs and provided $7 plus million in grants to environmental nonprofits in raising money for causes through NFT promotions. The platform uses a distributed ledger technology, that is over more energy efficient than a Ethereum blockchain.

With English’s creations, he will bring limited edition digital collectibles on the VeVe collectable platform for fans to purchase, collect and interact in this new asset. Also, the application is available on both iOS and Android.
