Already a double Latin Grammy winner, for her breakthrough single “Malamente.” Rosalía earned FIVE Latin Grammy nominations this year. Making her the most nominated female artist and second overall artist for the second consecutive year.

This year has seen Rosalía continue her accelerated ascent to Global stardom with an appearance alongside James Blake on his “Barefoot in the Park” and four additional releases of her own; “Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi” with Ozuna, double track “Milionària & “Dio$ No$ Libre Del Dinero,” “Aute Cuture” and her widely praised, and frequent ‘Song of the Summer’ pick “Con Altura” with J Balvin and featuring El Guincho.

The video for Con Altura is 2019’s most-watched video from a female lead artist (now over 976 million views), reached #1 on YouTube’s Global music video chart, and just won Rosalia her first two MTV VMA Awards. Likewise, the debut of “Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi” with Ozuna has seen the track skyrocket into the YouTube Global Music Video Top-10, and already reach #1 on Billboard’s “Latin Digital Song Sales” chart.

Titled “Why everyone is betting big on Rosalia.” The star graces the cover of Billboard Magazine’s September issue for a feature on musical beginnings and rise to international stardom.

“I can’t walk around like I used to, and there’s always paparazzi waiting outside the studio,” she tells the magazine. Rosalias rise to fame has been mere instant with first getting the attention of many by appearing in J Balvins album “Vibras.” The curiosity into this Flamenco-singer with a phenomenal voice quickly grew and before the year was up. It was announced that Rosalia would be performing at world-famous-festival, Coachella.

An equal factor in Rosalía’s worldwide embrace has been her unique and star-making live performances on a sold-out limited engagement “El Mal Querer Tour,” and across this year’s top global festivals – including Coachella, Primavera Sound, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and many more. An equal attention grabber has been her unique-artistic sense of style. In an interview with ‘W’ magazine, Rosalia spoke about her early adventures in creativity. Trying her ideas out on her barbies.

“I’d cut their hair, paint on tattoos, and create new clothes for them. I would invent elaborate stories: fights, dramas, successes. I would try out my ideas on them.”
Since she was a little girl, Rosalia demonstrated that she would one day, be a creative force to be reckon with. Recalling the first time she sang in front of her parents;

“I didn’t really know any songs,” Rosalía recalled, “so it was just ‘La, la, la, la, la.’ I shut my eyes and was making up this melody. When I opened my eyes, my whole family was crying. It sounds strange, but at that moment I knew what I wanted to do with my life.”

This young woman with the angelic voice and artistic style, who was once asked by Madonna herself, to perform at a party. Is truly a revolutionary artist and now the only female artist to have the most viewed song of 2019.

Marking her entrance into the “Billion Views Club.” “Con Altura” is finishing up 2019 as the 2nd most viewed song on YouTube and J Balvins 7th entry into the club.

Rosalia will next perform at MTVs EMAS on November 3rd. For more on this incredible artist, check back at MUSETV.
