Rough House Pictures signs on to documentary “Fraud” featured in AFI Fest November 12

Los Angeles, California— David Gordon Green, Jody Hill, and Danny McBride of Rough House Pictures announced their signing as executive producers of the new edgy and dramatic documentary “Fraud,” last Thursday (November 3).

As a studio for comedy, Rough House Pictures is also “hub” for drama that has produced several successes including the military throttled “Camp X-Ray,” starring Kirsten Stewart, and Golden Lion nominated 2014 smash “Manglehorn,” and redemption piece “Joe.”

Dean Fleischer-Camp, writer and director of “Fraud” said he is pleased to be working with Rough House Pictures, believing the partnership to be out of “wild and unconventional love.”

“Their energetic support and partnership on this is a testament to their creative ingenuity and truly thrilling lack of good judgement,” Fleischer-Camp said.

Produced by Memory Production Company’s Riel Roch-Decter and Sebastian Pardo, “Fraud” is a documentary centered around a family’s home movies  that documents a crime spree and struggle to achieve the American Dream, webbed in virtual world of YouTube uploads and mutability.

Jody Hill said in a Brigade Marketing press release that “Fraud” is a film that she has never seen before that intrigued her until the conclusion.

“The whole time I was watching it I was thinking, I’ve never seen anything like this before. I couldn’t look away.  I had to see what happened next. It had me going all the way through the end,” she said, “It’s probably the most fun movie I’ve seen in the last couple of years.”

“Fraud” will premiere at American Film Institute’s AFI Fest. There will be two showings of the film, the first starting on Saturday, November 12 in TCL Chinese Theatre 3 at 7 p.m. and the second on Monday, November 14 in the Chinese Theatre 4 at 4:15 p.m.. Free tickets to “Fraud” can be acquired on the AFI Fest website.
