HBO Max has given a series order to AND JUST LIKE THAT…, a new chapter of the groundbreaking HBO series, “Sex and the City,” from executive producer Michael Patrick King and starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis – who also serve as executive producers.

Based on the book, “Sex and the City,” by Candice Bushnell and the original TV series created by Darren Star. The series will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.

“I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max.

The ten-episode, half-hour series is scheduled to begin production in New York late spring.

Parker, Nixon and Davis will all reprise their roles, however Kim Cattrall, known for playing Samantha Jones, will not be returning.

When asked about Cattrall’s absence from this new project on her Instagram post, Parker responded that Samantha “will always be there and we are so excited. X.”

In recent months it came to light that Cattrall and Parker may not have gotten along while working on set, with Cattrall sharing her disdain. Parker has remained firm that there was no bad blood and carrys no ill-will towards Cattrall.

“No. I don’t dislike her. I’ve never said that. Never would. Samantha isn’t part of this story,” she wrote. “But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do. X.”
