Selena Gomez has debut a new Spanish-language track, “De Una Vez.” The music video was released on Thursday. The song features Selena expressing the feeling of being healed after heartbreak. Vulnerability inspired the pop artist to share her truth with the world. Helping to develop the vision for her new music era was Director Los Perez, and Producers Tainy, Albert Hype, Jota Rosa and NEON16.

“This is the beginning of something I’ve wanted to explore for so long. I hope you love it as much as I do,” Gomez tweeted.

In ‘De Una Vez’ Selena takes viewers through a transformational journey of her growth. The beginning of the video shows the heart of Selena rebuilding itself. As her heart heals, she can breathe again.

The visuals of Selena take place in a bed, where she is sleeping alone. Freshly sunken sheets in the shape of a body accompanies the space next to her. She reaches for the shadow of her lover and grabs emptiness, which signifies the depths of her loneliness after he left. The presence of the shadow disappears. Then, surrounded by nature, she blooms like a flower. Light enters the room and Selena is seen controlling the center of it, embodying taking control of her life.

Selena Gomez transitioned through phases of reflection and finished the video dancing with confidence, making it apparent she’s at peace with herself.

“I am incredibly proud of my Latin background. It felt empowering to sing in Spanish again,” Gomez says.

The words “Baila Conmigo” teased the last scene of the project. For months the pop artist hinted at the evolution of her career. More Spanish-language music may be on the way.

Delving into her Latin background may even bring an album.
