Universal Studios Hollywood celebrated the opening of DreamWorks Theatre featuring “Kung Fu Panda” with a spectacular display of parades.
The grand opening gave guests the opportunity to see Kung Fu martial arts displays, a Dragon Warrior Parade and special guests from Dream Works characters including : Kung Fu Panda’s Masters Po and Tigress; Madagascar’s Alex the Lion, the Penguins—Skipper, Rico, Kowalski and Private, and King Julien; Trolls’ Poppy and Branch; and Shrek’s Puss ‘n Boots, Shrek and Fiona.

The arrival of this new attraction marks the first attraction to open at in Southern California, since Universal’s recent acquisition of DreamWorks Animation.

“Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest” is a fun, spirited story and the ideal attraction to kick start Universal Studios Hollywood’s collaboration with DreamWorks Animation.”
Inspired by the movie “Kung Fu Panda” starring Jack Black, the new ride takes visitors onto an adrenaline adventure. Guests are first entered into a room where they get introduced to a pre-show with DreamWorks Characters. Once that’s finished, guests venture the ride—Coupled with seven Christie 4K Boxer Cinema Projectors and 360 degree surround sound audio, sweeping physical effects from water to wind empowers guest to feel Po’s adventure, as he embarks on a wild journey to deliver a liquid of limitless power to the palace.
As guests walk by the ticket booth and wait in line as they approach the ride, they are able to encounter a series of 36 movie posters that pay homage to DreamWorks Animation films.
However, that’s not all this new attraction has to offer, this summer guests are also invited to spend time with Po and Tigress as a part of a meet and greet event that will be located within the park’s Universal plaza.

We also can’t forget the new and theme-related food, a replica of Mr.Ping’s Noodle Shop will aso be opening up for guests who want to enjoy authentic Asian fare and its selection of hot and cold beverages.
