Whether you’re indoors, outdoors, in lockdown or not, one thing that is certain is that all stores and restaurants will be closed for the holiday. So what to do?
Well luckily HBO Max has at least 200 hours of available programming, including the most talked about movie of the year “Wonder Woman 1984.”
HBO Max recently launched its “Holiday Wonderland” spotlight page, that will give you a chance to cozy up with a special curated list of holiday movies and episodes perfect for the season.
Classic and original holiday movies like “A Christmas Carol,” “Bishop’s Wife,” “The Family Man,” “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas,” “Meet Me in St Louis,” and family friendly-favorites such as “The Wizard of Oz,” “Santa Buddies” “A Flintstone Family Christmas,” and “Scooby-Doo! Haunted Holidays.” The spotlight page also features iconic episodes of beloved series, “Friends,” “Big Bang Theory,” “South Park,” “The O.C.,” “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” and “Doctor Who.”
If you’re looking for something new to binge-watch, there is the holiday themed “12 Dates of Christmas,” which was just picked up for a second season.
“12 Dates is the escapist holiday treat we all need right now,” said Jennifer O’Connell, HBO Max executive vice president of non-fiction and live-action family. “In season one, we wanted to shake up the snow globe to combine everything we love about holiday romcoms with a clever dating show format and a wink at our audience. “My Gift: A Christmas Special From Carrie Underwood.” is an HBO Max Original, where Underwood performs a combination of beloved traditional favorites celebrating the joy and hopefulness of the holiday, as well as new original material from her first ever full-length Christmas album “My Gift”, which was released earlier this fall.
“I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Playtone and HBO Max to bring ‘My Gift’ to life,” said Underwood. “Just like the album, I hope this special will help bring some much-needed joy and become part of the soundtrack to people’s holiday festivities this year as it streams throughout the season and beyond.”
The special features many heartfelt moments and performances, including a duet with John Legend, singing “Hallelujah,” an original song he co-wrote with Toby Gad, which appears on her “My Gift” album. Viewers will also get an inside look behind the scenes of Underwood recording “Little Drummer Boy” with her five-year-old son Isaiah.
The highly anticipated “Wonder Woman 1984” will be available to stream from the comfort of your living room beginning Christmas day. Take a trip back to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.
With director Patty Jenkins back at the helm and Gal Gadot returning in the title role, “Wonder Woman 1984” is Warner Bros. Pictures’ follow up to the DC Super Hero’s first outing, 2017’s record-breaking “Wonder Woman,” which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office. The film also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta.
