Disneyland resort just surprised the world with the release of some very exciting news. May 31st will be a highly anticipated date, as Star Wars fans will be lined up in hopes of achieving access to Disney’s newest attractions within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This George Lucas franchise inspired theme park will feature “the most famous ship in the galaxy” known famously as the “Millennium Falcon” which will be an attraction called “Smugglers Run” at the resort. Disney guests will also be able to “sample amazing galactic food and beverages, explore an intriguing collection of merchant shops and more.”
With this wide array of new amenities, this means lines will be longer than usual and Disney is trying to combat the massive amount of popularity built around this new attraction through the introduction of “no-cost reservation(s). Disney sent out a statement explaining how “Guests planning to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park in California between May 31 and June 23, 2019, will need valid theme park admission” as well as a reservation. The “information on how to make a reservation will be available at a later date on Disneyland.com and the Disney Parks Blog.” Perks are being made to the guests who choose to stay “at one of the three Disneyland resort hotels.” Each one of these hotel guests will be granted “one reservation per registered guest” as a complimentary amenity for those who choose the Disneyland resorts’ hotels as a place of leisurely stay.
The Star Wars’ attractions were split into two phases for the betterment of customer experiences as Disney knows this will be a world event that will be highly crowded and anticipated. The Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, immersive attraction which “will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance and will blur the lines between fantasy and reality” will not be open on the first day so that customers can fully enjoy the Galaxy’s Edge location in its totality. Disney has released a multitude of Star Wars’ narratives such as “Building Batuu” and other “story series” exclusively on the Disney Park’s main website.
The major Walt Disney resort is really planning out every detail in order to ensure guest’s an enjoyable and memorable stay. The galaxy is waiting to be explored for all families and friends alike, far and wide. The date of May 31st is quickly approaching so fans of the Star Wars’ galaxy will not have to feel as if the opening day of the famous attraction is “far, far away” much longer…
